是, 有, and 在
Use the three most important beginner verbs for identity, possession, and location.

Use 他 for he or him.
她是学生。
She is a student.
Use 她 for she or her.

Identity or role uses 是.
他不是老师。
He is not a teacher.
Use 不是 to negate 是.
