When to use 口, 回, 遍 and 声 for Counting Actions
Verbal measure words count actions instead of things. They come right after the verb (and after 了 or 过): verb + number + measure word. 口 (kǒu) counts mouthfuls, bites or sips: 喝了一口水. 回 (huí) means “time” and is a casual word for 次: 我去过两回. 遍 (biàn) also means “time,” but it stresses doing the whole thing from start to finish: 看了三遍 “watched it three times all the way through.” 声 (shēng) counts calls and sounds made with the voice: 叫了一声 “called out once.”

आम गलतियाँ
- Do not use 遍 for visits or meetings: 去过两次, not 去过两遍.
- The count goes after the verb: 看了三遍, not 三遍看了.
- A pronoun object comes before the count: 叫了他一声, not 叫了一声他.
