把...一 + Verb and 把 + Object + Verb + Object
把 + object + 一 + verb shows a quick action that leads to something else, and 把 + object 1 + verb + object 2 adds a second object that is part of or attached to the first.
文型
subject + 把 + object + 一 + verb,…… | subject + 把 + object 1 + verb (了/上) + object 2
把 + object + 一 + one-syllable verb describes a quick, sudden action, and the next clause says what happened then: 他把门一关,就去写作业了. In 把 + object 1 + verb + object 2, the second object is a part of the first or something added to it: 他把自行车上了锁.
他把门一关,就去写作业了。
When to use 把...一 + Verb and 把 + Object + Verb + Object
In 把 + object + 一 + verb, 一 makes the action quick and sudden, and the sentence cannot stop there: a second clause tells what happened next or what it caused. 他把门一关,就去写作业了 “he shut the door and went off to do his homework.” The verb after 一 is usually one syllable, with nothing after it.
老师把手一挥,大家都安静了下来。
The teacher waved her hand, and everyone quietened down.

よくある間違い
- Don’t end a sentence with 把…一 + verb: 他把门一关 needs a second clause such as …就走了.
- Put nothing after the verb in 一 + verb: 把门一关, not 把门一关上了.
- In the two-object pattern, object 2 belongs to or is added to object 1: 把自行车上了锁, 把作文改了几个字.
