When to use 无论如何 for “No Matter What” and “In Any Case”
无论如何 is a fixed phrase meaning “however it may be, whatever happens”. It has three common uses. First, before 都/也 + a verb, it makes a promise, decision or demand firm: 你无论如何都要来 “You must come, no matter what.” Second, with 也/都 + a negative, it says something is impossible however hard you try: 无论如何也想不起来 “I just can’t remember, however hard I try.” Third, at the start of a sentence with a comma, it works as a discourse marker meaning “in any case, anyway”: it sets aside the details just discussed and moves to the point that matters most: 无论如何,我们已经尽了最大的努力.

- As a discourse marker, put a comma after it: 无论如何,…….
