문형
半 + A + 半 + B (A and B are opposite or paired words)
半A半B says two states exist at the same time, partly A and partly B, like half believing and half doubting.

When to use 半A半B for “Half … Half …”
半A半B puts 半 “half” in front of two one-syllable words: 半信半疑 “half believing, half doubting,” 半真半假 “partly true, partly false,” 半睡半醒 “half asleep, half awake.” A and B are usually opposites, or two different activities, and the pattern says both are there at the same time.

What he says is partly true and partly not, so don’t take it all seriously.

흔한 실수
- 半 appears twice: say 半信半疑, not 半信疑.
- “Half” is not a real 50%; the pattern just means two states are mixed.
- Phrases with 不 in the second half, like 半生不熟 and 半新不旧, are fixed set phrases; don’t build new ones by swapping 半 for 不.
