Degree Adverbs 最, 多 and 好
Say “the most” with 最, “how beautiful!” with 多漂亮啊, and a chatty “so cold!” with 好冷啊.

最 + adjective/verb; 多 + adjective + 啊！; 好 + adjective (+ 啊)！
最 ranks things, while 多 and 好 add feeling: 多好啊 “how nice!”, 好冷 “so cold!”.

When to use Degree Adverbs 最, 多 and 好
All three go right before an adjective or a feeling verb. 最 means “most”: 最好 “best”, 最喜欢 “like most”. 多 + adjective + 啊 is an exclamation, “how …!”: 多漂亮啊. 好 + adjective is a spoken “so, really”, full of feeling: 好冷啊. Use only one degree adverb at a time: 多好啊, not 多很好啊.

Look, how beautiful it is here!
今天好冷啊！

よくある間違い
- Use one degree adverb at a time: say 多好啊 or 很好, not 多很好啊.
- 最 goes before the verb or adjective: say 我最喜欢苹果, not 我喜欢苹果最.
- In a 比 sentence use 更, not 最: say 他比我更高, not 他比我最高.
