跟...一样
Compare equality instead of difference.
Pattern
A + 跟 + B + 一样 + adjective
Use 跟...一样 to say two things are the same in some way.
他跟我一样高。
When to use 跟...一样
跟 introduces the thing being matched, and 一样 marks sameness. Add an adjective after 一样 when you name the quality.
这两个菜一样好吃。
These two dishes are equally tasty.
她跟姐姐一样高。
She is as tall as her older sister.
这个房间跟那个房间一样大。
This room is as big as that room.
我的想法跟你一样。
My idea is the same as yours.
Common traps
- Do not use 比 when the meaning is equal.
- The compared item comes after 跟.
- 一样 can stand alone when the quality is obvious.
