……尚且……,(更)何况…… for “Even …, So How Much More …”
Argue from a strong case to a weaker one in formal Chinese with 尚且……,何况……: 大人尚且搬不动这个箱子,何况小孩子呢?
문형
A + 尚且 + predicate,(更)何况 + B(呢)?
尚且 means “even”: it marks a case where the statement is already true though you would least expect it. 何况 then brings in B, for which it is all the more true, usually as a rhetorical question.

When to use ……尚且……,(更)何况…… for “Even …, So How Much More …”
尚且 goes after the subject of the first clause and means “even”: 大人尚且搬不动这个箱子 “Even adults can’t lift this box.” The second clause starts with 何况 or 更何况 and names the case for which this is all the more true; it is usually a rhetorical question ending in 呢: 何况小孩子呢? “so how could a child?” The logic: if it is true for A, where you would least expect it, it is certainly true for B. The pattern is formal and suits essays, speeches and careful arguments.
