不仅... and 不光... for “Not Only … But Also”
Use 不仅 or 不光 in the first clause and 而且, 还 or 也 in the second to add a further point.

不仅/不光 + point A, 而且/还/也 + point B
不仅 and 不光 mean “not only.” They work like 不但: the second clause adds more with 而且, 还 or 也. 不仅 is neutral and common in writing; 不光 is more colloquial.
他不仅会说中文，而且会说日语。
When to use 不仅... and 不光... for “Not Only … But Also”
不仅 and 不光 open the first clause, and the second clause adds a further or stronger point with 而且, 还 or 也. Word order depends on the subjects. If both clauses share one subject, put the subject first and 不仅/不光 after it: 他不仅会说中文，而且会说日语. If the subjects are different, put 不仅/不光 before the first subject: 不仅我喜欢，我爸爸妈妈也喜欢.
这家饭馆的菜不光好吃，还很便宜。
The food at this restaurant is not only tasty but also cheap.
不仅我喜欢这个电影，我爸爸妈妈也很喜欢。
Not only do I like this movie; my parents like it too.
这个周末他不光要写作业，还要去学游泳。
This weekend he not only has homework to do but also a swimming lesson.
他不仅自己学得好，还常常帮助同学。
He not only studies well himself but also often helps classmates.
よくある間違い
- With two different subjects, put 不仅 before the first subject: 不仅我喜欢，他也喜欢.
- In the second clause, 还 and 也 go after the subject: 我爸爸也喜欢, not 也我爸爸喜欢.
- Don’t follow 不仅 with 但是; the second clause adds, it does not contrast.
