When to use 不知...是/才好 for “Not Know What to Do”
Start with 不知, “don’t know,” then put a question phrase built on 怎么, 什么, 哪 or 如何, and finish with 好 or 才好: 不知怎么办才好, “I don’t know what would be best to do.” The 好 at the end turns a plain “I don’t know” into “I don’t know what the right choice is.”

흔한 실수
- Keep the question word inside the pattern: 不知怎么办才好, not 不知办才好.
- With 如何, say 如何是好; with 怎么 or 什么, 好 or 才好 is the usual ending.
- Don’t add 吗: the question word already does the job, and the sentence is a statement.
