Should I learn Chinese words by HSK level or by topic?
Use an HSK list when following that syllabus, or a topic list for a specific task such as learning country names. Start with a small set you can use in sentences. The common-word lists follow subtitle frequency, which is a different selection method from an HSK syllabus.
How can I turn a vocabulary list into regular practice?
