X就X(点儿)吧 for “So What, That’s Fine”

Use X就X(点儿)吧, as in 贵就贵点儿吧, to accept a downside and move on.

Pattern

Repeat the same word around 就 to say “so be it”: you accept the problem because something else matters more.

When to use X就X(点儿)吧 for “So What, That’s Fine”

Put the same word on both sides of 就 and end with 吧: 贵就贵吧, 远就远吧. It means “if it’s expensive, then let it be expensive”, in other words, “fine, I can live with that.”

So this top is a bit pricey. That’s fine; it’s good quality and will last for years.

So it’s a little slow. Never mind; safety comes first.

This dish is a bit spicy, but that’s OK. I can handle it.

If he won’t come, fine. We’ll go by ourselves.

Common traps

  • Use the same word on both sides of 就: 贵就贵点儿吧, not 贵就便宜吧.
  • Add 点儿 only after adjectives; don’t say 去就去点儿吧.
  • Keep 吧: without it, a line like 去就去 can sound sharp or defiant instead of relaxed.

Targeted drill

Practice this exact pattern before moving on.

So the room is a bit small. That’s fine; we’re only staying two days
