X到Y头上来了 for “Even Doing It to Me”

Use X到Y头上来了 to protest, often half-jokingly, that someone has now turned an unwelcome action on you.

Pattern

verb (X) + 到 + person (Y) + 头上来了

X到Y头上来了 means “now you are even doing X to Y,” where Y is someone who should not be the target, usually the speaker.

你这个小家伙,骗到我头上来了!

When to use X到Y头上来了 for “Even Doing It to Me”

X is an unwelcome action such as 骗 (trick), 管 (boss around), 笑话 (laugh at) or 开玩笑 (play a joke). Y is the person it has now “reached,” usually 我 or someone older or more senior. 来了 at the end shows the action has come all the way to the speaker.

你还笑话到我头上来了?

And now you are laughing at me?

她管妹妹就算了,现在还管到我头上来了。

Bossing her little sister around is one thing, but now she is bossing me around too.

弟弟平时只跟同学开玩笑,今天居然开玩笑开到我头上来了。

My little brother usually only plays jokes on his classmates, but today he actually played one on me.

你一个小孩子,还管到大人头上来了?

You’re just a kid, and now you are telling the grown-ups what to do?

Common traps

  • Keep 来了 at the end; 骗到我头上 alone sounds unfinished.
  • Use it for unwelcome actions like 骗, 管 and 笑话, not for helpful ones like 帮.
  • 头上 here is figurative; nothing is literally on anyone’s head.

Targeted drill

Practice this exact pattern before moving on.

你这个小家伙, 到我头上来了!

You little rascal, now you are trying to trick me!
