说到哪儿去了 rejects what someone just said in a friendly way: “Not at all!” or “What are you talking about?”

When to use 说到哪儿去了 for “Not at All!”
Literally “where has your talk gone to?”, this reply tells the other person they have gone too far. It politely rejects thanks, apologies, praise or a wrong guess: “Not at all!” or “What are you talking about?”

Common traps
- Keep 去: 说到哪儿去了 brushes off what someone said; 说到哪儿了 asks where the talk stopped.
- It is a friendly rejection, so follow it with the real situation (我们是朋友嘛, 我没生气).
- It is informal; with a teacher or boss, 不客气 or 哪里哪里 is safer.
