Use 一...就... for “as soon as.”

我一到家就睡觉。

When to use 一...就...

一...就... marks a tight sequence. The first event triggers or is immediately followed by the second.

他一听音乐就高兴。

As soon as he hears music, he gets happy.

她一到家就给我打电话。

As soon as she gets home, she calls me.

我一看就明白了。

I understood as soon as I looked.

他一下课就走。

He leaves as soon as class ends.

Lỗi thường gặp

  • Do not use this for loose sequence with a long gap.
  • 就 belongs before the second event or result.
  • 一 is not counting “one” in this pattern.
