When to use The Suffix 面

Read noun + 面 for side or surface as a sentence tool, not just as vocabulary. First locate the main action or claim, then ask what 面 adds to it.

房间里面很干净。

The inside of the room is clean.

学校前面有一个公园。

There is a park in front of the school.

Do not translate noun + 面 for side or surface mechanically from English; check the Chinese word order first.
Keep 面 close to the part of the sentence it controls.
